Karim Ghachem

Karim Ghachem has over ten years of experience working at the world’s foremost financial institutions where he establishes and manages their leading client base.

Mr. Ghachem is consulted by investment banks, hedge funds, energy companies, governments, media and technology firms to structure & implement business development strategies and raise capital for a multitude of projects, investment funds and joint ventures. Mr. Ghachem spent 15 years living in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates where he cultivated an extensive network of business partners and investors.

He was previously with State Street Corporation in Boston and New York where he oversaw their business development with institutional investors and established many of their most prominent relationships. Prior to State Street, he worked at Credit Agricole and Brown Brothers Harriman where he developed and managed their top institutional relationships.

Mr. Ghachem is a U.S. Veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps Officer Development Command in Quantico, Virginia. He has a BA from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.

 

Caliste Claude M’Bayia

Caliste Claude M’Bayia has over 20 years of experience leading on international information technology projects. His career began in Paris as a Software Consultant at Onyx Systèmes, a French software startup. During that period, he designed and developed Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and printing software modules for France Telecom’s most strategic business applications.
He then held the position of Software Architect at Systèmes & Software Speciaux (3S), a leading French software consulting firm, where he worked on key software projects for the banking sector. His customers included BNP Paribas, Crédit Lyonnais and Credit Agricole banks in France.

After 6 years of successful career as a software consultant, Mr. M’bayia decided to broaden his perspective and get a different professional experience by moving into sales. He was appointed by SITA, the world’s leading specialist in air transport communications and information technology, as Business Development Manager for East, West and Central African regions, representing 25 countries and Country Director for SITA Cote d’Ivoire. In this position, his role was instrumental in bringing new technology solutions that improved airport security and passengers’ travel experience in Africa.

In 2006, Mr. M’bayia founded Smart Technology, a startup based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, operating in West and Central Africa countries and providing IT strategy consulting as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions. Smart Technology managed many important projects including the design, installation and operation of a country wide IT organization for a major political party during the 2011 presidential elections in Cote d’Ivoire.

Caliste Claude M’bayia holds a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management. He also holds a Master of Science from Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs en Génie Electrique in France and a Certificate in Public Administration from the University of Washington.

Mr. M’Bayia has received many distinctions including the Hubert H. Humphrey Fulbright fellowship awarded by the U.S. Department of State and the Legatum fellowship from MIT Legatum Center for Entrepreneurship.

 

Julianne Zimmerman

Julianne Zimmerman provides strategy and communications consulting services to organizations, putting technology to work for the greater good. She has been active for over 20 years in a wide variety of technologies and sectors, assisting small and large companies alike to bring breakthroughs to market. She has assisted for-profit and non-profit organizations to raise investment funds, enter new markets, reorient strategy, and attract prospective partners. Recent clients have included Philips, Brightstar and Allen & Gerritsen.

She previously served as VP Communications at General Compression, a utility-scale energy storage company; a founder and Director Business Development of GreenFuel Technology Corporation, an algae biofuel company; VP Engineering at Ovation Products, a water purification company; and a senior staff member at Payload Systems Inc., a boutique engineering services firm.

Julianne earned Bachelor’s degrees from MIT in Aeronautical / Astronautical Engineering and Literature / Humanities and an MS from the University of Maryland in Aerospace Engineering.

She has been honored with several awards and accolades for technology leadership, including a personal commendation from the Commander of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, and was twice a finalist in the NASA Astronaut Selection Program.

She has volunteered as an emergency medical technician, as a Pro Bono Account Director for the Taproot Foundation; and has served on the Boston Museum of Science Council Steering Committee and the MIT Mechanical Engineering Visiting Committee. She currently serves as a mentor for Springboard, MassChallenge and the MIT Venture Mentoring Service.

 

Thomas Anthony Guerriero

WMX’s founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Thomas Anthony Guerriero, has over twelve years of extensive upper executive experience. Mr. Guerriero began his career in the financial markets in 1998, and soon thereafter earned the position of Senior Vice President of the securities division of First Union (FTU: NYSE), one of the largest institutions in the world with over $400 billion in client assets. After First Union was acquired by Wachovia, (WB: NYSE) Mr. Guerriero continued to build his client base and team through several institutions and think tanks, eventually etching his name in stone industry wide, by becoming the CEO of a Member Firm, TAA. There he gained the prestigious recognition of being one of the youngest individuals to ever head a member firm.

His success at TAA led him towards the second acquisition in his career, this time by High Point Capital. Mr. Guerriero’s unique ability to create unique systems both technical and fundamentally, recruit, train, mentor and inspire individuals through his creative methodologies has led him to be recognized as a global force to be reckoned with. His most recent acquisition was at the helm of Global Wealth as CEO. He was able to maximize profitability and surpass all expectations, leading towards the third acquisition of his career.

As one of the most talented minds and influential people in the world today he shows no signs in letting up. In 2011, he was nominated, accepted and confirmed as one of the youngest inductions ever into Marquis’s Who’s Who in America. Also in 2011, Mr. Guerriero became one of the youngest owners of a professional sports team. He became an owner of a professional basketball team, the Springfield Armor in the NBA D league (The NJ Nets Affiliate).

Dr. Maziar Motahari

Dr. Maziar Motahari is an ambitious and talented expert in risk management, finance and software development. He holds a Masters degree in Earthquake Engineering from Stanford University and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, where he was named a Harold Helwig Fellow. Since leaving academia, he has held positions with industry leaders in a variety of significant business arenas.

He was a product manager for financial tools at MathWorks, the largest and most successful company specializing in technical computing. He then moved to Risk Management Solutions, the world’s premier source for risk management software products and solutions.

He is currently at PayPal where he heads the effort to minimize the risk of losses due to collusion between buyers and sellers.

In addition to his broad industry experience, Dr. Motahari has been working for the past few years to deepen his knowledge of financial industry through intense study for the CFA exam series. He intends to leverage his evolving understanding of risk management and finance with his longtime expertise in software development to work on cutting-edge technological solutions for complex problems.

 

Nate McQueen

Nate McQueen is an experienced technology leader and architect who has delivered enterprise projects for the past 17 years.

In his current role as National Microsoft SharePoint\Business Intelligence Lead for CapGemini division Sogeti, he has delivered engagements for Ernst&Young, Starbucks and Microsoft. In addition to his delivery role, he has given numerous talks at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center to CIOs on how to make enterprise collaboration succeed.

Prior to his work at Sogeti, he led a R&D team at the University of Washington focusing on cross institutional projects. His work included collaboration with the National Science Foundation and the Library of Congress.

In 2007, Nate was invited to speak at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on digital preservation strategies. When not engaged in technology ventures, Nate gives back to the community by providing mentorship for young professionals.

 

Julie Wood

Julie Myers Wood is the President, Compliance, Federal Practice and Software Solutions of Guidepost Solutions LLC. In this capacity, Ms. Wood brings her extensive background to oversee complex investigations and help build business compliance solutions for companies and educational institutions, large and small. Ms. Wood is the former founder and President of ICS Consulting, LLC (ICS Consulting), a specialist in compliance, risk assessments, immigration and customs investigations, and federal business development. Guidepost Solutions acquired ICS Consulting in September 2012. While with ICS Consulting, Ms. Wood was instrumental in developing proprietary software products that assist employers with compliance issues, including SecureID, ICS Eval and EZCertOrigin.

Prior to founding ICS Consulting, Ms. Wood served as head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for nearly three years. In this role, she led the largest investigative component of the Department of Homeland Security and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government, with more than 17,000 employees worldwide and an annual budget of more than $5 billion. During her tenure, ICE had five integrated divisions (Detention and Removal Operations, Investigations, Federal Protective Service, Intelligence, and International Affairs). In supervising ICE’s investigative activity, Ms. Wood oversaw the agency’s wide variety of anti-money investigations and private sector compliance programs, testified about AML best practices and investigations, and enforced the Export Administration Act and related export control regulations. Under her leadership, the agency set new enforcement records with respect to immigration enforcement, export enforcement (including ITAR, EAR and deemed export investigations), and intellectual property rights.

Ms. Wood is nationally recognized for her expertise on immigration and other law enforcement issues, and is often asked to speak on these issues. She has testified before Congress a number of times and has appeared on FOX, CNN, C-SPAN, ABC, CNBC, MSNBC, NPR, and numerous other television and radio stations. She is a member of the Advisory Committee for the American Bar Association’s Commission on Immigration and the Constitution Project’s Immigration Committee.

Her previous leadership positions in the federal government include service as Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement at the Department of Commerce and Chief of Staff for the Criminal Division at the Department of Justice. She also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary (Money Laundering and Financial Crimes) at the Treasury Department, where she helped draft regulations relating to Title III of the Patriot Act, coordinated the U.S. government’s national report/strategy on money laundering, and oversaw Treasury Enforcement activities relating to OFAC. Ms. Wood also served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, where she prosecuted a variety of criminal cases, including financial crimes, securities fraud, and other white-collar criminal cases.

Before entering government service, Ms. Wood was an associate at Mayer, Brown & Platt in Chicago, IL. She also clerked for the Honorable C. Arlen Beam of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Ms. Wood earned a bachelor’s degree at Baylor University and a J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School. She is a native of Shawnee, Kansas.

 

Mimi Khan

Mimi Khan has over 25 years of executive level experience in California state government and served as the Deputy Director for both the Licensing Operations and Administrative Services divisions during her tenure with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Her responsibilities over DMV’s driver licensing and identification, occupational licensing, driver safety and research and development branches encompassed leading the development of policy, regulations and research, including work on California’s first law regarding autonomous vehicles. Additionally, she was very active in the Executive Governance Committee’s development and implementation of DMV’s strategic use of technology to enhance fulfillment of its mission.

With Mimi as the Project sponsor, the California DMV implemented a new IT system to enhance the secure processing and issuance of driver license cards, earning the California card recognition for Document Security Excellence from the Coalition for a Secure Driver’s License.

Mimi initiated and oversaw the execution of multiple projects, including DMV’s enterprise-wide Oracle Financial and Administrative System, Automated Knowledge Test System (phase 1), and the Field Office Document Imaging System. In partnership with the California Secretary of State’s office, she was also responsible for ensuring the success of the DMV’s verification of identity necessary for online voter registration.

As DMV’s Deputy Director of Administration, Mimi oversaw an $800 million budget, human resource functions for 8,000 employees and over 200 facilities across the state. She established the first of its kind DMV Executive Leadership Academy, which offers graduate-level courses as part of the department’s succession planning efforts. On behalf of the Governor’s Office, she co-led the “DMV of the Future” project setting the framework for its strategic business approach of “Once and Done,” “24/7” and “Anytime, Anywhere.”

Mimi has a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor’s degree was obtained from California State University, Sacramento.
