Syed Gilani

President & CEO

A seasoned entrepreneur with global vision and international business management acumen, Syed Gilani has more than 17 years of proven experience in transforming business ideas into profitable global enterprise with deep understanding of North American, Caribbean, European and Asian Markets.

Syed began his career at a very young age by managing the international trade division of his family business and successfully turned it into one of the fastest growing organizations in the region by effectively identifying and connecting trade routes between South and Central Asia. Syed then turned towards construction and successfully managed a wide range of city development projects, a significant part of more than $100 million plan.

Satisfying his innovative and creative entrepreneurial instincts, Syed started a technology, marketing and research company, Trans-Atlantic Business Solutions (TABS), which quickly became one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. His commitment to give back to the communities led him to co-host one of the most popular radio talk shows in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Money Talk and More, for more than a year and to write and speak on the business and entrepreneurial development topics at various leading forums for many years. In 2008, Syed was invited to the Royal Business Dinner in England where he represented the American Asian community at the prestigious event. Later in 2009, he represented Pakistan in the largest trade mission of New York state’s history.

In 2011, Syed was honored as one of the 50 Outstanding Asian American Entrepreneurs by the AABDC and featured by the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, leading Virgin Islands’ newspapers and acknowledged by the Governor of the Virgin Islands. Recently Syed has been inducted as the Sounding Board Member at Columbia Business School and appointed as a Board Member at one of the leading publicly trading companies, WMX Group.

 

Andy Maddocks

COO and General Manager

What matters most to Andy is satisfied customers and great results.

At previous organizations, and since joining Z-Square Technology and TGI Ventures – a partner company of Z-Square Technology, Andy Maddocks has helped clients achieve success by leveraging his entrepreneurial insights, technical and strategic understanding to deliver sophisticated solutions and high value products. Andy is an experienced figure in marketing, business strategy and information technology.

Andy has stayed true to his desire to build companies where people can be excited about and proud of their work. Andy’s passion is for delivering products and services where customers can feel confident in the value they receive. He applies his leadership experience from a variety of technology-driven industries to deliver stellar products and services. With Andy’s guidance, TGI Ventures and Z-Square Technology are developing products and implementing solutions for some of the best and innovative organizations in the world.

In addition to shaping the forward direction of Z-Square, Andy has a key role in laying out TGI Ventures’ and Z-Square’s direction and overall business strategy. Andy is honing the efforts of TGI Ventures and Z-Square Technology to deliver product and service offerings that increase growth and continuously improve customer experience.

Andy embraces life-long learning as a way to drive innovative thinking and action. He holds a Masters degree from Harvard and studied Strategic Marketing Management at the Harvard Business School.

 

Dean Wormell

Director of Business Development and Sales

With over 20 years of high technology product marketing, business development and sales experience, Mr. Wormell brings a strong technical and well-rounded business background to the Z-Square Technology team. Mr. Wormell is a customer-focused executive leading start-ups in defining whole product solutions for new technology by identifying business & technical partners and bringing new products to market.

Prior to joining Z-Square, Mr. Wormell defined and developed markets for InterSense’s motion tracking technology. While at InterSense, he directed the growth of their inertial-based motion tracking systems for use in UAV & personnel navigation; robotic stabilization; simulation & training; film, game & video production; industrial process control; and augmented & virtual reality applications.

Early in his career, Mr. Wormell served a variety of functions at United Technology/Adaptive Optics Associates. He played key roles in both commercial technology transfers and management of government R&D programs. He successfully managed several technology development programs for the Air Force, DARPA, NASA and several DoD prime contractors.

With his work at United Technology and InterSense, Mr. Wormell has published many papers and is listed as a co-inventor on three technology patents. He is a respected speaker at tradeshow and industry events.

Mr. Wormell earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Miami University.

Currently serving as an independent representative for R2integrated, a national Digital Marketing & Technology firm, Mr. Wormell is also a member of the Kendall Square Association and the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.

 

Doug Andrews


Senior Program Manager

Doug comes to Z-Square Technology with diverse experience delivering technical solutions. Doug was the program manager for the delivery of the California Drivers License system which included a new central issuance facility, Nevada DL and Facial Recognitions system, and Washington State’s enhanced drivers license program. Washington’s EDL program was the first EDL program in the US.

Doug’s business experience includes sterile pharmaceutical production, semiconductor capital equipment high vacuum system design, installation, and support, and 3D printers sales. Mr. Andrews is one of the patent holder for Fail-Safe Cryopump Safety Purge.

Doug holds an Engineering degree from United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an armor officer in US Army 1st Armored Division, Bamberg, Germany. Doug earned his MBA from Babson College, Wellesley, MA.

Anastacio Gonzalez

Operations Manager

Mr. Anastacio Gonzalez has been with TABS Group International for over 5 years and oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization’s U.S. facilities located in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Boston, MA. He obtained his technical certification in electronics and technology through the U.S. Department of the Navy Advance Technical Training Center in Millington, TN in 1990. With 20 years of experience in personnel supervisory and management with the U.S. Department of the Navy, he pursued training personnel as his passion. He obtained his initial qualification to instruct Basic Academic Skills through Vincennes University in 1998. His intensive knowledge in computer communications, microprocessors, radar systems, micro-miniature repair and shop mathematics qualified him for the Department of Defense Advance Instructor Training in Technology at the Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay, GA in 2003. His dedication to teaching earned him the position of Leading Electronics Instructor at the Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment, Naval Station Mayport, FL that same year.

With continued education, he attended classes through Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in pursuit of a BS in Workforce Education and Development. Some of the courses attended through SIUC included; Occupational Analysis and Curriculum Development, Adult Learning, Assessment of Learner Performance, Developing Your Career, Foundations of Work Education, and Training Systems Management.

Due to his dedication to training, he was assigned to the Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit, Naval Aviation Station Jacksonville, FL. There, Mr. Gonzalez was assigned as a Student Counselor / Instructor under the Student Support Unit. He was responsible for the training and counseling of over 1400 students in career enhancement programs.

 

Veronica Rousseau

Marketing Manager

An outgoing and result driven individual, Veronica graduated from Babson College with a B.S. in Business Management and a double concentration in marketing and entrepreneurship. Attending classes such as entrepreneurship and new ventures, brand management and marketing research, she has joined TABS Group International with a motivation and passion for improving economic development and initiating positive change. Responsible for advertising, client relations, social media, public relations, and brand marketing, Veronica is devoted to advancing the socio-economic issues in developing countries.

Taking into account society´s rapidly evolving technological platform, Veronica stays on her toes as she adapts and connects networks for a pro-active approach. Creating and identifying new opportunities is a long lived habit as she builds her communication with others by finding a middle ground and maintaining strong relationships. Veronica is now completing her graduate studies at Harvard University in International Relations.

 

Erika R. Barnes

Administrative Associate

Motivated by high quality results, Ms. Erika R. Barnes is a diligent and resourceful individual who manages the organization’s administrative responsibilities working out of the BIZVI LLC location in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Ms. Barnes’ first job commenced in the summer of 2006 and lasted for five years with the V.I Department of Education Child Nutrition Program. Quickly recognized for her prominent leadership skills, she was promoted to the program’s supervisory position two summers later and held this role until her last duties in 2011. In this role, she managed daily calendars and reports, established excellent rapports with camp counselors and conducted bi-weekly training and visits to over 60 sites, over the course of six weeks. Along with her summer employment, she kept up her determination to excel and attended the University of the Virgin Islands as a full time student and Clerical Aide.

Prior to joining the team at BIZVI, Ms. Barnes obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications in 2010 and worked at WTJX-Ch.12 TV Station as a reporter’s assistant, where she gathered and organized up-to-date news content for broadcast segments and shadowed local reporters to gain valuable first-hand experience in her field of interest. Although, Ms. Barnes is not an anchor lead on a TV station, the versatile roles she encountered unknowingly prepared her to be an assertive, fast-paced and deadline-oriented employee.

A fraction of her direct responsibilities, aside from the common administrative duties, include managing and providing technical support for the company’s Career.VI website, with over 20,000 users across the U.S. She also assists the Operations and Marketing Departments with special projects for the organization’s clientele. Ms. Barnes enjoys working for an organization that delivers high quality results for its clientele. Her effective time management and communication skills aid in her abilities to accomplish daily projects for the company.
